Cycle Sport Pendle - Family Ride Sunday 31st May 2009

Members of the area’s newest cycling club ’CYCLE SPORT PENDLE’ met on Sunday for their first club run, following Frdays AGM. Sunday’s ride was the first opportunity for the young riders, parents, coaches and the club leaders to get together and 22 riders took to the road for a short ride into the Yorkshire Dales. The first picture is of some of our young CSP riders, the second of some of the group.

The ride was lead by Alan Gornall, on tandem with his younger daughter. Alan, from Barnoldswick is no stranger pushing harder than most on a bicycle having represented Great Britain on many occasions in the 80s along with Sue his wife, also a former international bike racer. A gold medal from the 1986 Commonwealth games is one of many highlights.

Cycle Sport Pendle - Inaugural AGM - 22nd May 2009 7:30pm - At the Crown Hotel, Colne

Official business to include election of officers and agreeing the club constitution. This will be followed by the current status of our Go-Ride accreditation, the Development Plan, venue issues, club kit and how we finance our activities.

Cycle Sport Pendle in the Nelson leader 24 April 2009

The Mountain Bike has been reported in the Nelson Leader today. Please note that there is an error: the next session is as planned on the 2nd May 2009, not this Saturday as stated in the paper.

4 CSP riders join in with the Eastlands Velo Road session at Manchester Velodrome 18th April 2009

4 our local riders rode extremely well during the Eastlands Velo Road and Time Trial session at Manchester Velodrome. The session including cornering techniques, a series of group relay races with each rider doing one full lap of the circuit, and finished off with the usual 35 minute time trial.

Our riders got to see inside the Velodrome and watch the Eastlands Velo riders at their Saturday morning training session.

Mountain Bike Holiday sessions Barrowford 6/7th April 2009

On the 6th and 7th April there was an excellent turn out for the British Cycling Mountain Bike session run by Simon Wilson (our local British Cycling Go-Ride coach) and Martin Brass at the Barrowford MTB track. We hops that riders will want to continue cycling and join Cycle Sport Pendle. Pictures to follow ...
