Connor, Harry, Bailey and Alfie race at the Dolan Race Series in Southport .. 21st and 28th March 2009

Connor French, Harry French and Bailey Payne rode with real gusto - finding it much easier on road bikes on the 28th. On the 28th in the Youth C race, Harry and Bailey kept up a really good pace, and in the YouthB race, Connor kept his head down against some really strong competition. Alfie Payne, not wanting to miss the action rode in the YouthE race.

A fantastic achievement and well done to our cyclists for finishing their first race in style. Connor French, Harry French and Bailey Payne are the first Cycle Sport Pendle riders to compete in a competitive youth cycling event, and against a strong field of some of the best North West riders in the Youth B and Youth C categories they performed extremely well.

Martin Woffindin does well as  Junior and Paul Oldham gets 2nd Senior (Silver Medal)
At the National Cyclocross Championships 2008/9

In his first season as a Junior cyclocross rider, Martin came 15th in the National Championship Junior race at Bradford this weekend. This was against most of the best in the country, including many of the high profile Junior riders. The course was challenging, the weather fine, and the racing fast. Martin got off to a poor start, but then picked off riders as the race progressed. Well done Martin.

Local rider Paul Oldham came 2nd this year out-sprinting Roger Hammond to the line, one better place than last year. The Senior race was full of excitement with the leading group, including Paul  chopping and changing throughout the race. Well done Paul.
