National NSR and Regional Schools of Racing RSR

National and Regional Schools of Racing (NSR and RSR) are Youth A and YouthB race training sessions run by British Cycling coaches for riders nominated by their Go-Ride club.

The NEXT NSR's are track specialist events, you need to apply by 11th July 2011

Riders are nominated to RSR's on the basis of current performance, ability, potential and enthusiasm at club level to RSR sessions.

Please read the 2011 NSR and RSR letter (pdf) from the BC Performance Manager, Olympic Talent Programme.

RSR sessions are:

  • On a regional basis, around 8 times a year
  • Run at regional venues
  • Intended for YouthA and second year YouthB riders
  • Road, Track, Cyclocross, MTB
  • Encourage local coaches to get involved to gain experience
  • Run by British Cycling coaching staff
  • Are for nominated riders only
  • Cost is £5 per day.

Riders can apply to NSR sessions, using the BC website. There is a small charge for attendance. As a club, we will suggest who is appropriate for each NSR, but anyone who is capable is able to apply.

NSR sessions are:

  • Less frequent, around 2-4 times a year
  • Run at a central venue, Mallory Park is often used
  • Intended for YouthA and all YouthB riders
  • For first year YouthB is an introduction to BC performance coaching
  • Has a much larger number of riders on the day
  • Road, Track, Cyclocross, MTB
  • Encourage local coaches to get involved to gain experience
  • Run by British Cycling coaching staff, with regional coach helpers
  • Suitable riders are invited, and must apply using the BC website
  • Cost is £10 per day.

Cycle Sport Pendle nominates riders on a reguar basis to RSR sessions and will suggest riders to apply to NSR sessions.
