Cycling Lancashire

Cycling Lancashire is probably the best website for all round cycling information in Lancashire. It has lots of useful information, and the Lancashire Cycling representative knows CSP and our activities. This is a really good source of information. Unlike BC, it is not race orientated.

Cycling Organisations

British Cycling - The UK Governing Body for Cycle Racing, based at Manchester Velodrome

British Schools Cycling Association - organises cycle racing for school ages.

Cycling Development North West - runs youth and senior cycle race series in the North West

North West Cyclocross Association - CDNW organises the Cyclocross calendar of event each year in the North West

Road Time Trials Council - Most of the road based time trials in the UK are run under RTTC rules.

Sport England Clubmark - we are registered with them as a club.

Cycling Venues

National Cycling Centre, Manchester - International standard 250m indoor wooden track, indoor BMX Centre, and the home of British Cycling

Preston Sports Arena - the University of Central Lancashire sports arena with the 1 mile bike track

Salt Ayre Cycle Track - a 4m wide cycle track at Lancaster. (The link is to the sports centre, there is no information about the cycle track itself)

Palatine Cycle Circuit - Palatine Leisure Centre, St Anne's Road, Blackpool, FY4 2AP. This is a flat circuit of about 1km in length.

Local Cycling Clubs

Clayton Velo Cycling Team - Pete Boast and Alan Roper ride with this club. Weekend club runs from Whalley.

Pendle Forest Cycling Club - Martin Brass rides with this club. PF organises time trials during summer. Weekend club runs from the Nelson area.

Nelson Wheelers - Pendle based cycling club. Weekend club runs from the Nelson area.

CTC Burnley and Pendle Branch - the local branch of the CTC - Cycle Touring Club
