Amy Gornall gets good reult at the CDNW North West Youth Tour 29 - 31 May 2010

In one of Amy's first races against the top UK Youth riders, Amy, as a YOuth B rider rode extermely well in what was a very fast series of races at Blackpool, Lancaster and Preston. The Youth A and B girls rode as one group in races fort he combined girls age categories, making it a fast race for the younger Youth B riders.

On the Monday at Preston, Amy rode in a bunch with 6 other riders in the last race of the series.

Well done Amy.

Cycle Sport Pendle accrestied to run Go-Ride Racing

Cycle Sport Pendle coaches, Len, Kirsti and Martin W attended the recent Go-Ride Racing workshop at Preston, and received the kit back of gear to help us put on events. We arer required to run 2 Go-Ride Race events in the next 12 months.

Oliver Payton 3rd place at the recent Nutcracker MTB series

  Cycle Sport Pendle youngster Over Payton from Colne finished in 3rd place at the recent Nutcracker MTB series, round 2 in Richmond Yorkshire. Oliver 14 started well and stayed with the leading riders throughout the juvenile race.

The conditions were really hot and dry and the course was very good with a mixture of singletrack, open fields,and a good climb. Oliver was in good local company at the race meeting with Trawden mountain biker Paul Oldham a clear winner of the Elite class.

Sam Boast 9th overall - Isle of Man Junior Tour 2nd May 2010

CSP first year Junior rider Sam Boast acheived overall 9th in a National level field of Junior riders in the Isle of Man Junior Tour over the weekend, an excellent result. The tour consisted of a short time trial in Douglas, a road race in Peel and a road race in Ramsey.

Sam's overall result was helped by an outstanding 3rd place finish in stage 3 at Ramsey on Sunday. Sam got away in a group of about 10 riders, with Sam and part of the leading group staying away until the finish. A great chase by top riders Sam Harrison and Joshua Edmundson from the Peleton at nearly 2 minutes back at the start of the last lap caught the leading group, but not the front riders. Well done Sam. Martin Woffindin, Junior, CSP and Sportcity came 45th overall.

CSP Sam Boast Wins the Bowland Road Race 25th April 2010

A great ride by Sam in the Bowland Road Race to take first place, against strong local competition. A first major win for Sam and for Cycle Sport Pendle. Sam is a first year Junior this year, competing in some of his frst open road races this season. Well done Sam.

Cycle Sport Pendle First Velodrome session 24th April 2010

Cycle Sport Pendle ran its first club track session at Manchester Velodrome on Sunday 3-5pm.

This was the first track experience for a number of club members and their families - some hesitant mums and dads all did extremely well and managed to ride the track. For our more experienced riders young and older, we had some skills based exercises, and some short races.
