CDNW YOUTH LEAGUE ROUND 4

CSP riders were at Phillips Park on Saturday 9th June for the mountain bike round of the CDWW Youth League.

Oliver Payton won both the races for the Youth A boys, Connor French came 10th in the 2 lap race and 7th in the 10 lap race.

In the Youth B race, Bailey Payne had a 6th in the 2 lap race and 4th in the 10 lap race place, and Haryr French 13th in both races. Cory Edmondson in the same race, riding up, was 14th in the 2 lap race and 8th in the 10 lap race.

In the Youth C races, Nathan Hawthorn was 2nd in the 2 lpa race and 1st in the 10 lap race, and Alfie Payne was 7th in both races.

In the Youth D races, Shannon Hawthorn was 10th in both races.

 BRASSMATICO GRANFONDO 51 - SUNDAY 10TH JUNE 2012

Cafe Cargo, Foulridge - Depart Time 9.30am - Mystery Destination

DISTANCE - 51 MILES

Please arrive in good time, as we will be leaving on time.

There will be 2/3 groups depending on numbers with a designated ride leader for each group. This person only, will know the route and destination. This is to keep the groups riding together. Please express your interest to Martin by June 8th so the lunch venue can be notified of approx numbers.

Track News April 2012

On Easter Tuesday 6 youth riders (Connor,Amy, Harry, Nathan, Georgia and Halle) and 4 senior (Alan G, Neil, Darren and Martin W) attended a session at Manchester Velodrome, planned and coached by Len, with assistance from Alan Gornall. Time on the track was spent gaining valuable experience for the upcoming National Omnium series. The riders learnt how to perform a standing start, Time Trials, how to ride around the track looking behind for their oponent and taking part in match sprints. It was a fantastic session, very much enjoyed by all the riders. Thank you to Len for taking time out to coach the session, now its onwards to the nationals that begin next month in Dundee and Edinburgh.

CSP Taster Day Sunday 15th April 2012 at Seedhill Athletics Track

This one off CSP session took place at Seedhill, our first use of our new base.

There were various activities, from slow bicycle races to skills sessions with our qualified coaches and opportunities to ride our club bikes and Mountain bikes. Riders from aged 8 onwards will also have the opportunity to join in with a Bikability session and receive the Bikability Level 1 certificate.

Some of our older riders took the opportunity to ride round the large car park area at Nelson and Colne College.
